The Royal Hospital School is a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school for 11 – 18 year olds, set in 200 acres of Suffolk countryside overlooking the River Stour.

The Royal Hospital School has the following vacancy required for 1 September 2022:

CHAPLAIN

The role of Chaplain at the Royal Hospital School is an excellent opportunity for an ordained minister of the Church of England to play a major pastoral role in our busy school community, by leading the spiritual life of the School, and affirming the Christian foundation within a richly diverse, multi-cultural and multi-faith community of boarding and day pupils.

Applicants should have a strong pastoral heart, an enthusiasm for working with young people and a keen desire to develop and support the spiritual life of the whole-school community. The Chaplain is responsible, alongside the Senior Leadership Team, for the spiritual leadership of the School.

A commitment to the wider life of the school, either as a teacher or in some other capacity, is an essential component of the role of Chaplain at RHS. The successful applicant will be expected to take an interest in the wider school community of parents, alumni, and partner organisations, encouraging kindness, compassion and charity, and supporting the spiritual life of the whole community.

Applications should be made online following the link on our website www.royalhospitalschool.org/vacancies .  Please also upload a covering letter to support the online application.

Closing date for applications:  12noon on Tuesday 31 May 2022

Interviews will be held: Saturday 18 June and/or Monday 20 June 2022
