Supporting younger pupils/boarders - Newbury
Date: May 23, 2017
Why you should attend: Younger pupils, whether day or boarding, are facing greater pressures and greater expectations. Parental, peer and societal influences are increasing the emotional and behavioural issues which we are seeing in our young students. Aspects such as body image and self-esteem, relationships and school work/life balance are increasingly creating challenges for youngsters and for the adults charged with supporting them. This workshop will explore the key emotional and behavioural issues and consider how we can best support our young people.
Who should attend? These regional workshops are aimed at all staff in Prep Schools and Junior Boarding who wish to review their current knowledge and practice in relation to working with young pupils/boarders. The focus is on pastoral care and wellbeing with the onus on sharing best practise and developing opportunities to explore different approaches/solutions to issues such as management of electronic devices, relationships, behaviour, and mental fitness/resilience.
