Why should you attend?
The strength of your boarding provision will depend on the quality of the Boarding Team. By understanding what makes a great Boarding Team, you can develop the boarding provision through a team effort. This workshop will focus on the key aspects of building and managing a House Team. It will look at performance management, conflict resolution, delegation and setting targets. This seminar is open to senior boarding and pastoral staff who wish to build and manage an enthusiastic and committed Boarding Team.

Speaker: Dale Wilkins, BSA Head of Safeguarding and Standards
Dale completed over 30 years as a boarding practitioner before joining the BSA permanently in September 2017. Dale began his career as a boarding tutor at Norwich School, ran a junior girls’ House with his wife at Tettenhall College, and then moved to Old Swinford Hospital in Stourbridge where he spent 25 years as Housemaster in both senior and junior boys’ Houses, as a Director of Boarding and then as Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Dale has also been a course tutor and trainer for the BSA for almost 20 years, was a sector professional inspector under NCSC, CSCI and Ofsted, and a trainer for the local safeguarding board.
