Food from across the globe was the order of the day as pupils from Bromsgrove Preparatory School celebrated the grand finale of their Global Voices initiative on Tuesday 21st May.
The children were treated to a street party with Thai, Chinese, Russian and Japanese food to tempt their taste buds, cooked to perfection by Holroyd Howe.
Global Voices was launched in September in the Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory schools. It is an initiative to celebrate and learn about global languages and the rich cultural diversity of the world.
During every half term, the schools have taken a different language as a focus. Children learned vocabulary, facts, activities related to that language and tried food from that particular culture.
Ms Trudi Faulkner-Petrova, Head of Modern Foreign Languages said “Global Voices celebrates bilingualism and broadens the horizons of the monolingual students. The children have been inspired to learn different languages and shown curiosity and interest in other cultures. Promoting respect and understanding across cultures and languages really helps the children on their journey to become global citizens”.
