Swimming Pool on course for September re-opening
24th May 2019

Rydal Penrhos is delighted to announce that a popular facility will be ready to re-open later this year.

The school confirmed that work on improving the Swimming Pool - originally opened in 1964 - is set to be completed in time for the start of the academic year in September 2019.

Executive Principal Mr John Waszek, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into making the necessary changes to our Swimming Pool to ensure it is a sustainable asset for years to come.

“This is another massive boost for the exciting academic and co-curricular provision we provide as part of a well-rounded and exceptional education here at Rydal Penrhos.”

Simultaneously, all pupils from Reception through to year 9 will receive a weekly swimming lesson as part of exciting curriculum changes.

The colour scheme at the pool will be designed by Prep pupils in a competition which will enable the winning team to be the first group to use the pool upon re-opening.

Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, added: “This is wonderful news and is something that is going to benefit the overall development of our Prep and Senior School pupils considerably.”
