Students at New Hall School in Chelmsford are celebrating after their
Equestrian Team won a host of prizes over the weekend. Year 10 student, Jo
Thorogood won the 80cm Jumping with Style class making her National Champion
and the school team were crowned NSEA Reserve Champions 2013 at the National
School’s Equestrian Association Championships.
The
competition, which was held at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckingham,
saw New Hall students as young as 11 compete against some of the best riders in
the country.
Student Jo
Thorogood, was crowned National Champion after winning the 80cm Jumping with
Style class with an almost perfect score of 3.5 style marks which is an
outstanding achievement. The 70cm show jumping team rode fantastically
and were crowned NSEA Reserve Champions for the second year running.
New Hall
School Principal Katherine Jeffrey said: “We are incredibly proud of all
of the riders. They showed wonderful team spirit and gave excellent
performances against some of the best riders in the country.”
