THE senior Rugby team at Rydal Penrhos School will be taking part in a popular television show next month.
Staff and pupils from the team have been invited to participate in the Rugby Tonight Show on Monday, October 26 at the BT studios in London.
Rugby Tonight airs every Monday evening at 8pm from September to May. It is a show that sets out to both entertain and inform, and is jammed packed with reviews and previews all the best of the action and headline stories from the Aviva Premiership, as well as the European Champions Cup.
It is filmed in front of a live studio audience of up to 200 people, and the Rydal Penrhos squad will be taking part in demonstrations of play on the studio pitch.
The team will come across plenty of famous faces in the form of presenters and pundits, including ex-England internationals Matt Dawson, Austin Healey and Lawrence Dallaglio.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “The lads are looking forward to going to London and taking part in the show, which should be a great deal of fun for all concerned.
“Pupils will also learn a lot from hearing the expertise of the BT Sport pundits that even include some World Cup winners, so hopefully that in turn will boost the quality of their performance on the pitch.
“It is also a huge boost for the school to be selected to contribute on such a well-respected programme.”
