A group of rugby and hockey players at Rydal Penrhos School will be embarking on the trip of a lifetime next summer.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd has confirmed that the senior teams of both sports will head off on a tour to Canada next July, which has been arranged with company England Rugby Travel, otherwise known as RFU Tours.
The teams will focus on three areas of Canada on their trip - Toronto, Peterborough and Ottawa – with a number of games being scheduled for the one week tour.
Away from the competitive action, there will also be a chance for pupils to take in the sites and sample the Canadian culture, which is sure to be a fantastic experience for the squads, according to Mr Boyd.
He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils at Rydal Penrhos to improve their skills against some quality opposition, while also improving team spirit and sampling life on another continent.
“RFU Tours are a well-established and respected company who have arranged a number of tours for internationally-renowned sides, so we could not be in better hands.
“Both squads are really looking forward to the tour, which is going to benefit each and every one of them tremendously.”
RFU Tours are responsible for arranging high profile excursions for teams such as the British and Irish Lions and Barbarians rugby squads, and is the official tour agent for the England national side.
