More than £100 was raised at a concert held by the Rydal Penrhos Community Choir last weekend.
The group, which is now in its third year, held the concert at St John’s church, Colwyn Bay on Saturday, October 9, and £112.50 was raised in total for Barnabas Fund UK.
There were plenty of music to enjoy during the two-hour event, including solo performances from talented musicians studying at Rydal Penrhos.
Head of Music John Wright, said: “It was a fabulous concert and all who attended seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
“Both choir members and pupils gave outstanding performances and we were also able to raise money for what we believe is a very worthy cause, and my thanks go to both the choir and all who attended.”
The choir, which now has around 40 members, have raised more than £8,000 for worthy causes through various performances since its inception, and their next engagement will be aiding the Rydal Penrhos Choir at the Remembrance Day Service in Queen’s Gardens, Colwyn Bay on Sunday, November 8.
They are currently seeking new members to join the choir, and rehearsals are held in the Music School every Thursday evening from 7-8.30pm.
Choir member Susan Watkins, who is also a Preparatory School parent, said: “Anyone who is an ex-pupil, a parent, husbands or wives of former pupils, of friends of the school are welcome to join us, and they would be made more than welcome by our group.
“The choir has done a fantastic amount by raising so much money in what is a relatively short space of time, and we hope to contribute further to charitable causes in the future.”
