A pair of Preparatory skiing sensations at a Colwyn Bay school claimed a national title from a recent event.
Chay Bonnington, aged 10, was part of the Wales B side which took part in the British Alpine Racing Ski Club Indoor Ski Championships, which were held at the Chill Factore in Manchester.
Despite being Wales second strong, the quartet, which also included Prep School pupil and sister Keira Bonnington, overcame Manchester Ski Racing Club in the dual slalom event to claim the overall title.
Headmaster Roger McDuff, said: “It was an outstanding performance from Chay and Keira against competitors who were a lot older and more experienced.
“Their skiing talent has come on leaps and bounds in recent months, and we as a school are delighted with their progress and achievements.
“They have worked incredibly hard and claiming a national title really is an extraordinary feat, which is sure to boost their confidence as they look for even more success in the future.”
Around 70 Pre-Prep and Prep school pupils from as young as four take part in weekly ski sessions through the autumn and winter, along with race training and racing in both the Senior and Prep.
