A series of exciting new initiatives have been planned for the upcoming year at a Colwyn Bay school.
Headmaster Roger McDuff announced the plans to parents in his end of term statement, with the Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School chief outlining a new partnership which has been formed to heighten pupils’ learning experience.
Next term the Prep School will also begin their partnership with Ysgol Betws yn Rhos as part of the North Wales School Effectiveness and Improvement Service.
Pupils will be invited to Rydal Penrhos for both the Chess and Maths clubs, with a view to Prep Pupils visiting their partnered school in the future for some Welsh activities.
Mr McDuff, said: “We are looking forward enormously to seeing how this develops and are hopeful that this will prove to be beneficial to children from both schools.”
There will also be a couple of new additions to the Prep School staff as part of their ongoing work with Bangor University’s teacher training programme.
Hafsa Saleem and Scott Warburton will be taking up part of their training at Rydal Penrhos and will be working with Years 4 and 3 respectively.
Mr McDuff, said: “We already have a strong partnership in place with Bangor University and their teacher training programme, which has proved to be very successful.
“We regularly receive students who bring state of the art philosophy and techniques whilst receiving experience in a strong teaching environment and we hope that Miss Saleem and Mr Warburton can continue this trend next term.”
