A Rydal Penrhos staff member has secured a position with a prestigious Rugby League team.
Mike Hopkinson, a strength and conditioning intern at the school, will be working part time with the Bradford Bulls, splitting his time between the Yorkshire side and Rydal Penrhos.
Mr Hopkinson has been with the school since October and has a BSc in Sports Science from John Moores University, Liverpool.
He also has am MSc in Biomechanics from the University of Northumbria and will be working with the Bulls as part of their strength and conditioning staff.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It is fantastic for us to be able to provide interns with the experience they require to gain work with professional teams.
“His Biomechanics background really compliments Ben’s Strength and Conditioning background and ensures we are providing our pupils with the most accurate and up-to-date training methods available.”
The Bradford Bulls are one of the most well recognised and successful Rugby League teams in the world, having won the Challenge Cup five times, been league champions six times and World Club Challenge winners three times.
