Several pupils from Strathallan, one of Scotland's leading Independent schools, have represented Scotland in their sports across various events taking place during the Easter break.

Representing Scotland in rugby, fifth form pupils Cameron Henderson and Finlay Laird were called up to play for Scotland's U16 Rugby Team, with Cameron captaining the squad to a victory over France. In hockey, fourth form and goalkeeper Sarah Cameron-Sutcliffe defended between the posts for Scotland U16 in a tournament in Holland and in golf, fifth form pupil Rowan Carey was delighted to play in his biggest golfing tournament to date, joining the Scotland U16 team for the second time.

In addition to those pupil representing Scotland, two sixth form pupils, Angus Gibson and Fraser Glasgow, took a trip down to London over the Easter break to take part in the Great Britain slalom canoeing trials at the Olympic Lee Valley course. Angus was selected to represent Great Britain for the J18 Team to compete in the World and European Championships taking place in Krakow, Poland and Slovenia and Fraser was named as reserve.

Audrey Sime, Director of Sport at Strathallan commented:

"This is a fantastic achievement for this group of pupils, who all show such commitment to their sports and it's great to see them rewarded with being chosen to represent their country. I'm delighted that they have been given the opportunity to showcase their passion and dedication to sport and I speak on behalf of all our coaches when I say we are immensely proud to have such diverse and promising young sporting talent here at Strathallan.

Audrey continued:

"We are committed to the training and development of our pupils and it has been brilliant to see so many of our current and former pupils achieve great sporting success on a national level."

The pupils all represented Scotland during National sporting events over the Easter break, including the 2016 Conwy International Rugby Festival in Wales, U18 Rugby International Series in Wales, Golf Quadrangular U16 International in Northern Ireland and the Canoe Slalom 2016 Selection Series in London.
