Former pupil Yvie Johnson reaches Lancashire on record breaking ultra-marathon attempt
22nd June 2016

A former Rydal Penrhos pupil continues to make tremendous progress in her record breaking ultra-marathon attempt in aid of charity.
Yvie Johnson, mother of Year 8 pupil Sydney, is trying to be the first person to run from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back, which would be a Guinness World Record.
The 35 year-old former police officer and Denbigh resident reached John O’Groats on Thursday, May 19, and she is now in the Lancashire area on her descent back to Cornwall.
In total, the former pupil has run more than 1,350 miles to date.
She said: “I am still too far from the finish to feel nearly there, but 1350 miles done.”
The mother of three has set a target of £50,000 for mental health charities Bipolar UK, Mind, Scottish Association for Mental Health, Young Minds and Place2Be.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=FierceMind.
