A Preparatory School track and field star enhanced his growing reputation at a recent event.
Jonathan Osbourne, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, was part of the Colwyn Bay Athletics Club team that took part in a Cheshire League clash with Warrington Athletics Club on Sunday, July 10.
The speedy nine year-old took part in the 75 metre sprint race and put in an eye-catching performance to win in comfortable fashion, claiming a new personal best of 11.6 seconds in the process.
This is the latest in a long line of success for the Rydal Penrhos pupil, who made his debut for the club in April, where he was the only athlete out of 40 competitors to break the 12 second barrier.
He was also one of the standout performers at this year’s Prep School Sports Day as he continues what could be an extremely bright future as a sprinter.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “This is yet more proof of the undoubted potential that Jonathan has, and to achieve another personal best is very pleasing indeed.
“He is a very determined pupil with a great amount of attributes that going to stand him in good stead as he looks for even further success in the future.”
