A Preparatory School showjumping star continued her good form as she prepares for a tilt at the British Championships this summer.
Hattie Maddocks, a Year 4 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, took part in a number of competitions at the prestigious Royal Welsh show, which is held from July 18-21 at Builth Wells.
The nine year-old achieved a creditable fourth place in her first event, while she narrowly missed out on a high finish in the nursery stakes when she knocked a solitary pole down during her round.
This was the start of what is set to be a busy summer for the Aberconwy Pony Club member, who will take on the best young showjumpers in the country at the British Championships, which will be held in Stoneleigh from August 9-14.
Following the national showcase Hattie will then head to the Staffordshire County Showground on August 21, where she will be competing at the Scope Festival UK Supreme Championships.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “This is another wonderful effort from Hattie, who is gaining some invaluable experiences despite her young age.
“Her dedication to her craft is something that is matched only by her natural ability, and we are confident that Hattie can gain success on the national stage.”
