A talented Preparatory School track and field star added to his list of accolades at a recent meet.

Jonathan Osbourne, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, was part of the Colwyn Bay Athletics Team that competed in the final round of the Cheshire League programme on Sunday, September 4.

The gifted sprinter matched his personal best of 11.6 seconds to finish second in the top boys section in the 75 metre event.

Osbourne, aged 10, also achieved success in the long jump event, where he achieved a personal best of 3.45 metres on his way to a third placed finish.

The pupil will begin using the facilities at the Senior School in the near future, where he will be working with the school’s Strength and Conditioning staff to enhance his development.

Prep School head Roger McDuff, said:

“It has been a terrific season for Jonathan, who has achieved some notable successes despite his young age.

“Working with our sports department over the year is going to do his development the world of good, and we are confident this is just the start of a very promising track and field career for him.”
