llustrator helps school pupils with portraits
14th November 2016

Yorkshire Illustrator Stephen Waterhouse visited Giggleswick Junior School on Thursday 10 November helping pupils from Nursery through to Year 6 design small and large self-portraits.

These portraits will form a larger piece of artwork that will be displayed near the entrance to the Junior School building.

Stephen said of the day. "The children were all incredibly enthusiastic and hardworking. I had fun creating with the children, creating small portraits with their favourite things around the school.  My job now is to make the framed wooden artwork, paint the school and then cut out all the children’s wonderful artwork and add it on top of my artwork… it becomes a collaborative colourful collage!  It will take until the New Year but I am already looking forward to returning to Giggleswick to unveil it!"

The children all thoroughly enjoyed their workshops and parents will get a chance to see the final piece when Stephen returns in January for the official unveiling.
