U18 Girls' Hockey through to National Finals
4th December 2017

Congratulations to Bromsgrove School’s U18 Girls’ Hockey team who have been crowned Midlands Champions at the Midland Indoor Hockey Finals and as a result have qualified for the National Finals, to be played at Bromsgrove School’s Arena in January.

The team started the day with an exceptional display of defensive determination and discipline to draw 0-0 with a Repton side featuring a number of junior internationals. They then followed this up with a 1-0 win over King’s High, Warwick, a 3-2 comeback win over Oakham and an efficient 1-0 win over Abbotsholme..

A Malvern College side who had beaten Bromsgrove 3-0 in the County Finals awaited the team in the Semi-Final. Bromsgrove started strongly and took a two-goal lead, however Malvern managed to convert two penalty corners of their own to level at 2-2 taking Bromsgrove to Penalty Strokes. Ellie Childs scored the first, Malvern then missed, Claudia Moberley scored the second, which then led to Malvern missing again putting the girls through to the National Finals in Bromsgrove’s own Arena next year.
