Hockey Success At All Levels For Felsted
19th February 2018

Felsted U13 boys’ hockey team are returning to the IAPS National Finals this year, to defend their 2017 title after only conceding one goal across six games at the Regional Hockey Finals.

The Felsted boys started off strongly, with wins against King’s College and Windlesham (2-0 each) followed by draws against Bedford (1-1) and St Johns’ College (0-0) and a fantastic 6-0 win against Beachborough. This took them through to the final game against St Faith’s, which they comfortably won (3-0) to proceed to the National Finals.

This is the second big triumph for the U13s this season, who, along with Felsted U11s and U14s have been crowned County Champions, after winning 5 out of 6 of their games at the National In2Hockey Championships.

U13 hockey Coach, Bruce Evans comments; “All the Felsted squad played some exciting hockey showing that they are skillful players who, with continued practise, have potential to play and enjoy their hockey at a high level.”

Hockey at Felsted is a strong discipline with success at every age group. The U14 and U16 boys are through to the regional finals of the National School’s Cup after their successes at the County championships and the U19 girls reached the National Quarter Final of the Independent School Hockey Cup.

Felsted has also been ranked as one of the top Independent Sports Schools of 2017 by School Sport Magazine after some excellent sporting triumphs last season, including winning the National Indoor and Outdoor Cricket Finals, and reaching both the National Hockey Finals at the Olympic Park and the National Semi Finals of the NatWest Rugby Cup at Allianz Park.
