Windlesham nestles in 65 glorious acres in the South Downs countryside in West Sussex and gives every child the opportunity to reach their potential in whatever sphere of life that may be. Established in 1837 Windlesham was the first school in the country to be established as a preparatory school and in 1967 became the first IAPS co-educational school.
This year saw a record number of scholarships to senior schools and a 100% success rate at Common Entrance with all candidates gaining places at their first choice of school. Whilst academic excellence and success are a high priority we also nurture a caring, family atmosphere. We believe schools are about children are at the centre of everything we do. With us, they have time and space to be children, away from the pressures of competition and urban hothousing. Children are encouraged to try a host of sports and extra-curricular activities and to learn about independence, interdependence and co-operation.
The range of subjects, sports and music on offer is almost limitless – if you want your child to study Greek, Mandarin, play the piccolo or learn real tennis, we can arrange it. This produces a consistent stream of high-flyers and all-rounders – 25% of last year’s leavers got scholarships to their schools of choice, with a particularly wide range of schools as destinations.
