Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating exceptional GCSE results today.
Across the cohort, A*-A / 9-7 grades make up over 92% of all results.
More than three quarters of students (77%) have achieved seven or more results awarded at the highest A* / 9-8 grades.
Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: “I am incredibly proud of these pupils, not only for the outstanding results they have achieved, but also for their work ethic, compassion and dedication throughout the changes and uncertainty bought about by the pandemic.
“I have been delighted by the maturity with which they have handled these complex situations, including the switch to hybrid digital / on-site lessons for a large proportion of their GCSE studies. These excellent results are a testament to their hard work and perseverance over the last two years.
“My particular thanks also go to our fantastic teaching, pastoral and support staff, for guiding and supporting all our pupils during these challenging circumstances.”
Pupils have achieved these exceptional results, while also pursuing a range of co-curricular activities and awards. These have included Duke of Edinburgh Awards, performances with national theatre companies and music groups, campaigning and volunteering work, selection for national debating, poetry, art, and essay competitions, and competing in a wide range of regional, country and national sporting competitions.
