Leweston School GCSE results were significantly higher than the national average for the sixth year running.
The GCSE results received today at Leweston School were for the sixth year running impressively higher than the national average. The school saw significantly more than double the number of 9s and 85% of all pupils achieved at least two grades 7 to 9.
Several pupils scored a majority of 8s and 9s, in particular Emily A and Serena M, who gained an outstanding 15 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s between them.
Eleven of the different subjects on offer saw over half of all grades achieved as 9 to 7 including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths, Maths, Latin, Drama, Physical Education, Music, Fine Art and Textiles.
John Paget-Tomlinson, Headmaster of Leweston, congratulated the students on their achievements:
“This is a fabulous set of results. Over 25% of grades were one or more levels above target proving, once again, the exceptional value that is added to our pupils’ results at Leweston thanks to the pupils’ positive mind-sets and the exceptional support from our professional and dedicated staff. Equally impressive are all the other activities that our GCSE cohort were involved with from equestrian to pentathlon, drama and Duke of Edinburgh to mention a few highlights. They have worked hard whilst embracing the benefits of a rounded education full of enrichment.”
