ACS Hillingdon close out academic year with formal farewell for departing students

Posted: 13th June 2024

ACS International School Hillingdon hosted its annual graduation ceremony for the Grade 12 (Year 13) students who will leave the school at the end of the academic year.

Hosted prior to students receiving their final grades, the formal ceremony enabled the wider school community to reflect on the achievements of the departing students through a graduate address, music interludes as well as multiple awards being handed to notable students, which was then followed by a reception that included graduates and their families.

Martin Hall, Head of School at ACS International School Hillingdon, said: “Congratulations to all of our graduating students. It has been inspiring to see the development of such an impressive, diverse group of individuals with remarkable talents and I’m delighted that as a school, we’re able to acknowledge their hard work and give them the farewell that they deserve. As they head into new opportunities, whether that be the world of work or further education, we cannot wait to see how they utilise the knowledge and experience they have gained here to make their impact on the world.”

The ceremony also acknowledged particularly outstanding students with awards which included the Valedictorian award, which was awarded to Amelia H and Nicholas F for the highest academic average, and the Founders’ Award, which was given to Beatrice D for excellent academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities and service to others.

While a number of graduates will go on to universities and colleges in the US and around the world, 55% of ACS Hillingdon’s Class of 2024 will stay in the UK. Students staying in the UK will go on to study at a range of institutions, such as Warwick, York, Imperial College, Loughborough, Sussex and Kings College London.

ACS Hillingdon offers a high-quality international curriculum to its students aged 4-18. In place of A Levels, students can study the International Baccalaureate (IB)’s Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP), Advanced Placement (AP) courses or the US High School Diploma.
