Five-time Olympian swimmer, Mark Foster, leads swim clinics for pupils at Bishop’s Stortford College.

Bishop’s Stortford College was delighted to welcome five-time Olympian, six-time World Champion, and eight-time world record holding swimmer, Mark Foster, for a bespoke swim clinic with their pupils on Tuesday 11 June.

Working with their performance squad and junior squad swimmers, Mark shared his expertise and experience with the young athletes through a combination of classroom and pool-based workshops. Performance squad athletes had the unique opportunity to gain insight into the life of an Olympic athlete, with Mark sharing valuable lessons on the mindset require to navigate the highs and lows of competitive swimming and emphasising the importance of resilience and determination in the face of setbacks.

Following the classroom-based session, the College’s performance squad swimmers participated in an intensive one hour and 45-minute swimming stroke clinic led by Mark, which provided them with tips, techniques, and personalised feedback for improving their skills and performance. The College’s junior squad swimmers also received a bespoke experience with Mark in an hour-long swim clinic.

Head of Aquatics at Bishop’s Stortford College, Ashley Bygraves, commented, “Mark Foster’s visit was truly a highlight for our school swim teams, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and knowledge he shared with our swimmers. His visit will have a lasting impact on our athletes, motivating them to work harder, dream bigger, and strive for excellence in everything they do.”

The College would like to extend its thanks to Mark for his visit and valuable contribution to our young athletes.
