Haileybury in East England win at Tes Schools Awards 2024

Haileybury in Hertfordshire wins Boarding School of the Year.

The winners of the Tes School Awards 2024 have been revealed during a glamorous event attended by educators from across the whole of the UK.

The awards, now in the 16th year saw shortlisted teachers and schools from across the country come together for a glittering gala at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Featuring award-winning comedian Alex Horne and 6-piece band The Horne Section as hosts, the action-packed awards ceremony celebrated the triumph of teachers who have demonstrated outstanding achievements.

Judged by a panel of experts from long-serving head teachers to heads of educational organisations, the judges selected winners for a number of categories.

Judge of the awards and Director of Education Strategy for North London Collegiate School International, Gwen Byrom said, “Haileybury stood out for its commitment to evidence-based practice and its aim to become a global leader in boarding and pastoral care for today’s and future generations. The diversity of the school, the way this is celebrated in multi-faith celebrations, to the adoption of their Halo Code, clearly indicates a commitment to celebrate all faiths and cultures.”

Simon Heard, Deputy Master at Haileybury said, “Our boarding programme is exceptional and we’re so excited to receive this prestigious award. We’re so lucky to have such a great team working together which makes this so much more rewarding.”

The night also featured a short segment of the Lion King performed by the Disney Theatrical Group.
