At the end of June, Huish hosted its inaugural Careerfest, a festival-themed careers event aimed at connecting students with diverse employment and progression opportunities.
Each student was given a timetable for the day, enabling them to participate in a careers fair featuring over sixty exhibitors, a range of inspirational employer talks and Q & A sessions. Topics covered in ‘mini talks’ included apprenticeships, CV and personal statement writing, gap years, student finance and the science of procrastination.
The event also featured a DJ, Magician, photobooth, ice cream and doughnut vans, and an appearance from the Huish Tiger mascot – an inspiring yet fun day was had by all.
Joanne Mellor, Progression Advisor at Huish shared “CareerFest 2024 was a great day, with engaging sessions and networking opportunities. Students enjoyed the expert-led workshops and panel discussions, while exhibitors reported strong engagement, highlighting CareerFest’s role in supporting our students to explore career and progression options and to make professional connections”.
Huish would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the event, including sponsors Kennedys Law, Moore Scarrott and Evo Academy. Roll on CareerFest 2025!
