Two Old Cranleighans will be competing in the Paris Olympic Games.

Izzy Petter and Will Calnan will be competing as part of Team GB Hockey, both players having over 100 combined caps for both England and Great Britain.

Izzy left Cranleigh in 2018, and since then, has won bronze with Team GB in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and gold with England in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Izzy’s career began at Cranleigh Prep and continued through the Senior School, where she excelled, winning national selection at various age groups before making her debut for the Great Britain senior side less than a year after leaving school.  Her ‘Team England Golden Gateway Plaque’ is displayed in the Senior School Sports Centre.

Will left Cranleigh in 2013, and since then, has won bronze with England in the 2022 Commonwealth Games as well as being named in the squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. His career began during his time at school, and throughout his time at Woking Hockey Club. Will was part of a team that reached a number of school National Finals on behalf of Cranleigh.

Richard Organ, Cranleigh’s Director of Hockey, was thrilled to learn of their inclusion and everything they have achieved since leaving Cranleigh. The whole Cranleigh community wish them the best of luck and look forward to watching them play.
