Kent College Prep School is proud to announce that due to the success of the original phased approach to become a co-educational school, boys will be welcome to join the two final year groups (Years 5 and 6) from September 2025, to make the Prep school fully co-educational.
Since the beginning of the transition to becoming a co-educational school in 2020, Kent College Prep has enhanced the curriculum and extracurricular provision to ensure it is engaging, inspiring and meets the needs of all children, whilst adding appropriate facilities to ensure that boys are supported in all areas. The curriculum, facilities and outdoor spaces make Kent College Prep a natural and ideal environment for both boys and girls to thrive and having these changes already in place will ensure the smooth and successful transition into a fully co-educational school.
Head of Prep School, Mrs Salli Hall said:
“This is an exciting time for us at Kent College Prep. Our experience of co-education thus far has been positive, and we have found that having boys in the younger years has enhanced rather than changed the school experience for all. This is a positive move and one which we are all looking forward to.”
Head of Kent College, Miss Katrina Handford commented:
“It has been a joy to have boys and girls in our youngest year groups since 2020, and I am delighted that boys can now join us in Year 5 and 6 too. Our co-educational Prep school allows all students to thrive, both academically, emotionally, and socially and it is a pleasure to see every child make progress every day, whilst enjoying every aspect of their learning. I look forward to extending our excellent co-ed offer in KC Prep, whilst continuing to specialise in girls-only education for Senior School.”
