Course Outline:

Running and chairing meetings is a key part of being a school leader. Our webinar will focus on the importance of planning and preparation for successful meetings. When facilitating professional discussions, there are bound to be differing perspectives and we will cover strategies to ensure active participation and foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration. We will also use real examples about the challenges which may arise when running meetings and how to address them effectively.

Learning outcomes:

  • Effectively plan and structure team meetings in advance
  • Develop skills to facilitate productive and inclusive discussions as well as strategies for managing different personalities and conflicting opinions
  • Learn from examples about common meeting challenges.

Speaker:

Executive Director, Boarding and Director BSA/TIOB

David is the BSA Director and joined the BSA group in August 2023. He has over 20 years’ experience in boarding schools and has worked in a range of schools in the UK and Africa, alongside being a prep school governor and a trustee of a MAT. Before taking up his post at the BSA, David was Deputy Head Pastoral at a large co-ed independent school in the South-East.
