Course outline:
This course will be delivered by an experienced Pharmacist trainer from OPUS. The ‘Supporting Pupils’ guidance advises that ‘all school staff should have sufficient training’ in medicines handling.
This seminar will provide an overview of the safe procedures for handling medicines within school & when out on school trips, and will focus on ways to reduce medicines errors in schools.
The seminar will include case studies and activities throughout.

Rowena Tague, Professional Support Pharmacist, OPUS
Rowena Tague, is a Professional Support Pharmacist for OPUS. She has worked for OPUS for three years and in that time she has provided medicines training to a variety of care settings and schools. As part of her role, she also undertakes independent medicines audits, prepare training courses for OPUS and write, review & update medicines policies and procedures for a range of organisations. Prior to working for OPUS, she was a community Pharmacist for over 35 years. The main focus of her work has always been supporting different care settings including schools with their medicines.
