Founded in 1557, Brentwood is an enterprising, innovative and superbly resourced school with over 1300 pupils in the Senior School. It sits among 75 acres of lush Essex countryside but is a mere 20 minutes train journey to London. The ISI Inspection of 2019 reported: “Boarders’ views are actively encouraged, and their opinions and concerns are appropriately considered by staff.” Pupils are taught in single gender classes from 11 – 16, and in fully co-educational small classes in the Sixth Form. There is a wide choice of subjects, whether you want to follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), BTEC Extended Diploma (Sport and Business) or A Levels. IBDP students average 37 points. 75% of students in a Sixth Form of 330 take up places at their first choice university.
