Strathallan School pupil Harriet Rankin clinched three national netball titles this season.
In June, she helped Perth & Kinross District Netball secure the Scottish Youth Cup, completing a trio of victories at Club, District and School levels.
Earlier in the season, Harriet helped Perth City Juniors Club become back-to-back U15 Scottish Youth Champions and as Co-Captain of Strathallan’s U14 squad, she has helped the School team also go unbeaten twice in the Scottish Schools Cup. She was named Player of the Match after a thrilling 32-17 final against North Berwick High School at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
Speaking of her success and becoming a triple cup championship, Harriet said, “I’m thrilled to have played my part, and it’s been fantastic getting to play with the different teams and variations at Club, District, and School levels.”
Harriet began playing netball in Year 4 (P3) and has been a key player progressing through Strathallan’s Netball squads ever since.
“My goal is to represent Scotland, so training with all my clubs gives me a huge sense of pride and helps me improve,” she added.
Louise Waugh, Head of Netball at Strathallan, commended Harriet’s accomplishments, highlighting her hard work and composure under pressure.
“I am delighted for Harriet this year. She has worked hard to improve her skills and has maintained calm under pressure. She is a fantastic player and is able to play a variety of positions, making her a critical member of our school netball team. I look forward to her continued success and hopefully national representation in the future.”
Carol Harvey, Director of Development at Netball Scotland, also praised Harriet’s season, emphasizing the broader significance of her success.
“Congratulations to Harriet on a fantastic season! Her dedication and success highlight the importance of girls engaging in sport, building confidence, and developing essential life skills.”
