Course outline:
This box set series is designed for boarding staff and school leaders giving them a broad overview series of a range of key topics relating to boarding. This series would be ideal for staff moving into senior positions in boarding, preparing for Deputy Headship and consolidating their understanding on the wider sector ‘headlines’.
Many schools are reporting an increase in the number of children with identified Special Educational Needs and disabilities. While teachers receive training on SEND matters, this is often with an academic focus. Boarding staff who act in loco parentis have to deal with a different aspect of their pupils’ needs, which can be equally challenging. Our SEND box set will cover the points below:

Speaker: Gaelle Sullivan, Director Research and Inclusion, BSA, Director TIOB
Gaelle is Head of Research Services and Inclusion and joined the BSA in January 2023. She is an experienced senior leader and has worked in a range of state and independent schools. She is a qualified SENCO and holds a Masters Degree in Inclusive Education. Prior to joining the BSA, Gaelle was Deputy Head Pastoral, DSL and Head of Boarding at an all-girls independent school in the South-East.
