Course outline:
This training has been especially designed for BSA members as a follow up to CBT introduction: tools and strategies. Dr Jody Walshe will take delegates further into the study of CBT practices and how we can use these to support young people in establishing resilience, self-confidence and managing stress and negative feelings.
This half-day course is for delegates who have been using some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches in their work. This course will be an opportunity to develop and extend the skills of delegates who have started to apply some CBT tools in their work. The session will be bespoke and designed to build on the skills that delegates are already using, and introduce new tools to utilise.
Delegates will leave the session with new skills and tools to extend their work and skills when working with individuals, small groups and whole classes/houses. Delegates will also have the opportunity to raise specific areas where they would like to develop their skills which will be addressed e.g., wanting to use CBT tools with a wider range of young people, to address different needs e.g., exam anxiety, perfectionism, peer relationships, self-esteem, social media use.
