Course outline:
This course will look at some of the key tensions within a boarding house which may lead to disputes – either ‘in the moment’ or ongoing. We will also discuss the issue of ‘relational aggression’ and how to identify and manage this.
Training topics will include:
- Identifying types and causes of disputes and relationship problems between boarders.
- Setting a positive boarding house culture.
- When to intervene in a dispute.
- Relational aggression.
Learning outcomes:
- Be able to identify better disputes between boarders.
- Form new ideas for how to set a positive boarding culture to enable early intervention.
- Understand the concept of ‘relational aggression’ and develop strategies to combat it within your school.
