BSA International Boarding Day takes place annually in October each year. The celebration recognises the individual experiences within boarding communities worldwide.

This important day highlights the sense of community, camaraderie, and personal growth fostered within these educational environments. Boarding schools play a significant role in shaping the lives of young people. International Boarding Day aims to create an opportunity to reflect on the invaluable life skills, friendships, and independence cultivated in these settings, while also celebrating and sharing experiences of inclusive, supportive boarding school communities across the globe.
2024 theme: Global Unity
Thank you to all those who celebrated International Boarding Day on Saturday October 5, 2024!
Our ‘Global Unity’ theme highlighted the wonderful multicultural and multinational communities found in boarding. Boarding is a unique environment where global perspectives converge with respect for one-another, breaking down barriers and broadening students’ worldviews. These cross-cultural exchanges allow students to learn from one another’s traditions, languages, and viewpoints, fostering respect and understanding.
International Boarding Day was celebrated alongside two of our sister associations, BAISIS and IELA.
