Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Deputy Head of House to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester. We need outstanding people to come and be part of the school and to build upon the good standards that already exist.
The job
- We are looking for a professional Deputy Head of House to supervise the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. This role is suited to people who have worked in a Boarding School environment or similar residential setting (accommodation is provided on site).
- The working pattern will be five shifts a week on a rota basis. Up to two of these shifts will involve working as a house assistant and the remaining three or four will involve working in the deputy capacity. The five shifts include some work in evenings and at weekends, term time only.
In return
- Salary range £16,776 – £17,602 pro-rata (£33,553 – £35,2024 FTE) per annum, anticipated pro rata 0.5 open to discussion. Additional House Assistant hours payable at £11.44 per hour and enhanced weekend rate payable at £14.34 per hour.
