Rugby School is looking to appoint an outstanding Director of Music to start in either September 2025 or January 2026.

Rugby prides itself on having a sector leading Music Department that excels in both choral and instrumental music. Our musical theatre and rock and pop provision is also superb, and we have a host of diverse performance spaces across the campus. Our choir performs Choral Evensong annually on BBC Radio 3, and we have recently organised Music tours to Hong Kong and Spain.

The Director of Music will lead an experienced and dedicated team, consisting of the Deputy Director of Music, Head of Co-curricular Music, Head of Academic Music, Head of Vocal Studies, Head of Keyboard, Head of Music Partnerships and a team of over 50 peripatetic colleagues and professional choral singers.

The Director of Music will be directly responsible for the Choral Programme at Rugby School, the Bilton Grange Chorister Programme, the Music Scholar Programme and is joint Artistic Director of Festival on The Close: Home: The Festival on the Close, Rugby, Warwickshire.
