Taunton School has revealed images of its new library and sixth form centre, due to be completed this summer.
The artist’s impressions show a modern sixth form centre with study pods, a social space and gender neutral toilets while the library has a contemporary feel with 36 study spaces and automatic low energy LED lighting.
Décor in the refurbished sixth form centre and library were designed with the help of Year 11 and Year 12 students who will be using the facilities from September 2022.
Terry Harris, Taunton School’s Head of Estates, said: “We’re delighted to reveal the artist’s impressions of our new sixth form centre and library and we’re looking forward to the new academic year when our students can make the most of these modern facilities.
“At Taunton School we’re always looking to the future to provide the best possible facilities for our students.”
The new facilities are being built in the school’s old upper and lower dining rooms which became surplus space after the new £3.6million dining room was opened in 2020.
The next phase of Taunton School’s development plan includes a state-of-the art international school and improved sports facilities.
