On Tuesday 4 October, Leweston Prep were lucky enough to have a visit from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue along with their fire engine.
The pupils spent the morning with the Dorset Fire prevention team, learning about fire safety and what measures they can take to ensure safety for themselves, as well as others. The pupils explored a range of investigations and role play activities under the supervision and help from the Dorset Fire staff.
The pupils were then treated to get up close and personal with the fire engine, learning about all the different tools that the fire fighters use when saving people from a fire in a building, vehicle or in an outside environment. The most exciting part was sitting inside the fire engine and learning about the radios and flashlights that they use, as well as trying the helmets!
The school sends its thanks to the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue team for taking the time to come visit Leweston and enlighten the pupils about fire safety.
