National Apprenticeship Week 6th – 10th February
To celebrate this year’s National Apprenticeship Week, Chigwell School ran a series of talks dedicated to all things apprenticeship.
The highlights of the week were the sessions run by OC and current apprentice, Beatrice Okpara. Having left Chigwell in July after completing her A levels, Beatrice received a number of Degree Apprenticeship offers before choosing JP Morgan.
Beatrice ran two sessions for students across the school. She gave students advice on the application process, hints and tips for interviews and assessment centres, and how best to identify opportunities.
Her talk after school was an informal chat about her experience as an apprentice so far, the jump from studying to working, and the pain of paying taxes! Students had the opportunity to ask questions and find out what life as an apprentice was really like.
The School events were run in conjunction with national events such as The Big Assembly, the UCAS Virtual Apprenticeship Fair, and a whole host of other events run by Amazing Apprenticeships.
All the latest apprenticeship vacancies can be found on the Amazing Apprenticeship website and on the government ‘Find an Apprenticeship’ website or contact Miss Darkin for more details rdarkin@chigwell-school.org
