A HARROGATE school has welcomed a new head teacher.
Mr Phil Soutar, who has been the national Chair of the Independent Schools Association for the past year, has become Head of Ashville Prep School.
He was previously Head at Rosemead Prep School and Nursery in Dulwich, South London, for the past six years.
Mr Soutar, who has dedicated his career to inspiring and nurturing younger pupils from age 2 to 11, said: “It’s great to be here and see the school burst into life at the start of the new academic year.
“I am already immensely proud to be part of the Ashville family, and thank pupils, parents and colleagues for their warm Yorkshire welcome.
“I look forward to leading the Prep School on the next phase of its development journey, and sharing my vision for the year ahead when our focus will centre on optimising creativity, excellence and opportunity for every pupil.”
He has specialised in independent preparatory education throughout a career spanning more than two decades. This has also included posts as Deputy Headmaster at Ackworth Junior School, near Pontefract, and Headmaster at St Wystan’s Prep School in Repton, Derbyshire.
