Mayfield, a leading independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11-18, has been rated “Outstanding” by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate. The report describes Mayfield as an “exceptionally joyful and supportive school,” where “students feel empowered to strive to be the best they can be in all elements of their lives.” The report goes on to say, “Kindness, welcome and respect are the golden threads of the school.”

Headmistress Deborah Bligh said: “We are delighted to be graded ‘Outstanding’ across all areas. Our Catholic ethos is about instilling timeless values that will serve our students – whether Catholic, of another faith, or no faith at all – well throughout their lives. Kindness, integrity, gratitude and courage are woven into the fabric of daily life at Mayfield.“

She added: “I especially want to pay tribute to our staff for their dedication in striving for the excellence that Mayfield stands for. As the report says, staff ‘are exemplary role models who consistently go above and beyond in their commitment to the students’. It’s a great honour to lead such an outstanding school.”
