A Wellington School student has gained an unprecedent number of offers to the top drama schools in the country.

Sixth Former Georgia has been accepted into seven of the top Drama Schools in the UK on their Technical Theatre course. This includes un-conditional offers to RADA, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and Mountview and further offers from LAMDA, Rose Bruford, Royal Welsh and Guildford School of Acting.

Director of Drama, Claire Davies commented, “we are so excited to see Georgia start her Technical Theatre journey, as she follows in the footsteps of her mentor, Old Wellingtonian and BAFTA award winning lighting designer, David Bishop.”

As well as being a talented technician, Georgia has graced the stage many times at Wellington, including her most recent performance as Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Georgia has continued her love of dance in school, training for her Grade 8 ballet with Miss Emma and featuring strongly within the Music Department as a member of the Corps of Drums, Choir and vocal ensembles. Last year Georgia was also accepted into the prestigious National Youth Theatre.

The Drama department at Wellington School is proud to offer students unparalleled access to industry-standard experiences. This is supported by two exceptional LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) tutors, who balance their teaching roles with active professional careers and whilst they champion Drama for all, they are especially proud to see so many students thriving in the professional worlds of film and theatre.

Claire Davies concluded, “Congratulations Georgia, we are so proud of you and all that you have achieved!”
