Earlscliffe is a unique, small sixth form boarding school offering a highly-personalised education for international students aiming to enter top UK and US universities. With small class sizes, intensive teaching and weekly testing (TRaC™), each student’s academic potential is maximized. Having 33 different nationalities at Earlscliffe means that we offer a truly enriching international environment for our students.

Earlscliffe is based on the Kent coast, 53 mins from central London and offers various courses throughout the academic year and Easter and Summer holidays, including A-levels, a one-year GCSE course (International Transition Year), Diploma in Business and Management and University Foundation courses.

Our accommodation is excellent with spacious single and twin rooms with private bathrooms as well as a variety of healthy food and homemade cakes served every day.

Extra-curricular activities include MUNGA; Global Politics Society; Debating Society; Drama Club; competitive football, basketball, running club on the beach, badminton, horse riding; golf; unlimited gym access; Movers and Shakers club; evening trips such as cinema, ten pin bowling, theatre & museum excursions as well as trips to European cultural centres and an annual trip to New York.

Special Achievements:
• We were ranked number 38 out of 4303 schools teaching A-level in The Telegraph’s ‘Top 100 secondary schools by A-level results’ published on 29/01/15.
• We were placed at No 45 independent boarding school in England for A-level results (DfE Jan ’18)
• We achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all categories in our latest Ofsted report (June 2017).
• We also were shortlisted top 5 high school of the year in the ST Star Awards 2018.

International Transition Year = Pre-A-level/1 year GCSE:
• 5 GCSEs in one year
• Timetable is made up of 1/3 English (English as second language and IELTS preparation) PLUS 2/3 academic subjects (Maths/ Physics, Chemistry or Environmental Science / Statistics, Geography or Art and Own Language)
• Designed for international students
• Preparation for A-levels or IB
• TRaC™ testing
• Can be taken for 3 or 6 months to improve English language

A-level:
• Intensive – main subjects are allocated nine lessons per week

Our summer courses run from June until mid-August:
• Global English for 13-17 years old (minimum English level A2+) – 22 hours tuition. Students discuss global themes through debates, workshops, project work and trips, not only using their four language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening) but also importantly critical thinking.
• Mini-MBA™ for 15-17 years old (minimum grade English level B2+) – 22 hours tuition. For students looking for an inspirational and ambitious course, this will give them the perfect introduction to the exciting world of business management and administration.
• Uni-Prep for 16-18 years old (minimum grade English level B2+). For those students who are considering University either in the UK or in their own country. This is a skills based course that is designed to focus on all the independent learning skills required of an ambitious undergraduate: critical thinking, public speaking, essay writing skills, research skills, note taking skills, delivering presentations, debating, IELTS as well as visiting Oxford and London universities.
• Academic Integration for 14-17 years old (minimum grade English level A2+). In June we offer a number of places to those looking for a fully integrated, academic programme within our traditional boarding environment. Our course is designed for international students and provides a balanced curriculum of mathematics, humanities, sciences and English language including preparation for the IELTS exam at the end of the course. Students also participate fully in our sports and cultural programme alongside their academic peers.
Courses can be combined ie Global English for 2 weeks followed by Mini MBA™ for 2 weeks.
