St Catherine’s is situated in 27 acres of parkland and offers outstanding sports, music and drama facilities. Situated in Bramley village three miles outside of Guildford town centre (the train takes just over 40 minutes to London Waterloo from Guildford) and is also conveniently located for both Gatwick and Heathrow airports. The school is ranked consistently in the Top 10 girls’ boarding schools for A’ Level results.
St Catherine’s girls grow intellectually at their own pace in an environment which encourages them in the belief ‘there is nothing a woman cannot do’. By creating an environment in which their confidence can grow, we ensure that our girls thrive. How do we create such an exceptional environment? By treating each girl as an individual, by constant encouragement and by striving to ensure that every pupil is happy at school.
St Catherine’s has enjoyed national success in lacrosse, netball and swimming. All girls are encouraged to play sports with the philosophy being sport for all; sport for fitness. There is an emphasis on a rounded education and participation in the wide extra-curricular opportunities, be it music, sport, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme or the smaller specialist clubs, this is encouraged and applauded.
Girls progress to Russell Group and Oxbridge universities across a wide range of specialisms.
St Catherine’s is a full boarding school with day girls and we also offer weekly boarding which offers great flexibility. Girls may go home on Friday after school which allows parents and boarders to share quality time together at the weekend. Many girls choose to stay in school to take advantage of the busy full boarding weekend programme and to spend time with friends, or to take part in Saturday fixtures or weekend rehearsals.
