Terrington Hall is a vibrant and purposeful co-educational day, weekly and flexi-boarding prep school for children aged 3-13, situated in the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 15 miles from York.

The school has a strong weekly and flexi-boarding community, with regular boarding weekends. We also run an exciting evening activity programme.
Terrington’s broad curriculum and excellent facilities are supplemented by an exceptional range of co-curricular activities and events. All children have the opportunity to join residential adventure trips in the UK and beyond. We aim to develop children who have an awareness of their social and environmental responsibility to the world around them.
As truly independent and not tied to any other school, we place special emphasis on preparing pupils for entry into the senior school that best suits each child, whether locally or further afield. We are particularly proud of the scholarships won by our pupils for academia, art, sport and drama.
Our excellent sporting facilities include 15 acres of playing fields, AstroTurf pitches, tennis courts, an indoor heated swimming pool and sports hall. All major sports are played and an extensive fixture list ensures that every child can represent the school. Specialist peripatetic tuition is available in tennis, cricket and swimming throughout the year.
Music, art and drama are an integral part of the curriculum. Tuition is available for most instruments, voice and drama, with children prepared for various exams. We aim to give your child every opportunity to experience the joy of performing in concerts, recitals and other performances throughout the year.
