A quintessentially British boarding school, nestled in the leafy English village of Tettenhall, yet within proximity of Wolverhampton and the UK’s second city, Birmingham. Tettenhall College provides a safe, and inspiring learning environment which nurtures each child’s natural gifts and guides them to reach their true potential, encompassed within 33 acres of protected, ancient woodland. Tettenhall College is a ‘home from home’; boarders are welcomed into modern, newly renovated, well equipped single-sex boarding houses, each with its own dedicated House Parent who live in School with their own families.
Round the clock medical and pastoral care ensures that each child feels happy and secure, and our in-house catering team serves a wide variety of tasty and healthy cuisines for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each boarding house has its own kitchen in which students can prepare their own meals and snacks. The seven-day boarding activity programme is busy and diverse and encourages each child’s immersion into school life, including: trips to historic towns and locations, visits to museums and theme parks and activities such as mountain biking and indoor climbing. Tettenhall College believes that extracurricular activities are the cornerstone of a well-rounded education and that it fosters social and team working skills. Every child is certain to find activities which will suit them; from our own heated, indoor swimming pool, to squash courts, rugby, cricket and football pitches, extensive music department, art studio and our Victorian-era performance theatre at the heart of the school site. The theatre underpins the ethos of expression and personality that the school encourages.
Tettenhall College believes that creative and expressive arts truly inform and foster learning, whilst developing key life skills such as public speaking and improvisation. There’s also a multitude of clubs to join, from orchestras, bands, and language clubs to film society, fencing, drama, and chess. Attainment is consistently high a high proportion attending the country’s most sought after British Russell Group universities, as well as those abroad. Each student in Senior School partakes in the ‘Pathways Programme’ which introduces them to a wide variety of career and educational opportunities and helps them set out their own career path. Joining Tettenhall College welcomes you to the global ‘TC Family’, an international network of former pupils located in the UK and everywhere from Australia to the United States, working in countless industries and professions. Many students return to the School for the annual alumni events and are keen to share their advice and expertise at our career events.
